Professor Gianpietro Semenzato has been appointed Scientific Director of the VIMM ad interim. Professor Maria Pennuto is confirmed by his side as Deputy Director of VIMM.
Semenzato, author of 600 publications and scientific papers in the blood-oncology field in national and international journals, former Director of Hematology and Immunology in the Hospital, professor of Hematology at the University of Padua, is one of the leaders of the VIMM research group on diseases and solid tumors. He will now fill the role in the transition period leading to the appointment of the new Scientific Director of the VIMM. This will take place through an international call which will be published in the coming months.
A moment to take stock also of the Institute’s activities, which saw a 2019 with the 16.6% increase in funding assigned to researchers with the VIMM as a hosting institution.
