The Advanced Biomedical Research Foundation, chaired by Prof. Francesco Pagano, was established in Padua in 1996 with the aim of promoting and implementing scientific research projects and activities in the university and healthcare context of the North East. The Foundation today represents one of the poles of excellence at an international level for research carried out in the field of cell and molecular biology. Furthermore, thanks to careful partnership activities with the University of Padua, the Hospital and with local private excellence, the Foundation aims to be an engine of scientific, cultural, economic and social growth for the area.
The mission of the Foundation for Advanced Biomedical Research is to improve the quality of life of people in a context in which life expectancy has increased and the aging of the population has increased the incidence of degenerative diseases, cancer and diabetes. Through high-level scientific research, which starts from a basic approach to quickly arrive at translation research and the first clinical studies. For the sake of society, we find better ways to understand triggering mechanisms and prevent disease, to improve the health of people around the world.
