YOUR “5×1000”: A SIMPLE WAY TO SUPPORT VIMM’S RESEARCH

By allocating your 5×1000, you can help more than 260 VIMM researchers and 100 external collaborators carry out advanced studies in several areas of biomedicine.

Producing high-level research with concrete impact on the understanding of diseases, cellular and molecular mechanisms, and the possible development of new therapies — this is the goal and mission of the Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine (VIMM), founded 30 years ago to ensure a better future and new hope for the treatment of currently incurable diseases.

It’s an ambitious goal — one that requires a shared effort, including yours.
By allocating your 5×1000, you can enable more than 260 VIMM researchers and 100 external collaborators to conduct advanced studies in different areas of biomedical science.

An example? Thanks to the support of donors through the 5×1000 program, VIMM has been able to significantly strengthen its Flow Cytometry and FACS (Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting) Platform, a crucial technology for studying cells at the molecular and functional levels.

The funds collected were used to upgrade existing instruments and purchase new reagents and technical components, thereby improving the platform’s sensitivity, efficiency, and analytical capacity.

In particular, this enhancement has had a direct impact on several major research projects, including:

·Lymphomas, with detailed analyses of the cellular populations involved and their response to targeted therapies.

·Prostate cancer, through the characterization of tumor cell immunological and molecular profiles.

·Mitochondrial diseases, enabling researchers to isolate and study cellular subtypes with altered energy metabolism.

·Neurological disorders, where flow cytometry has been used to investigate cellular mechanisms related to neuroinflammation and neuronal degeneration.

Do you want to take part in shaping the future of scientific research?

Add your name and signature to the list of donors who have chosen to allocate their 5×1000 to VIMM.

We’re waiting for you.
