Preclinical Platform

The Institute features a highly specialized preclinical research facility, ensuring the highest standards of scientific quality.
This controlled environment allows the study of biological mechanisms underlying various diseases and the safe evaluation of the effectiveness of new therapeutic approaches — with the ultimate goal of translating scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for human health.

Instrumentation

Rotarod

Rotarod is a device used to measure an animal’s forelimb grip strength. The force applied during the grip is measured and recorded in units such as kilograms or pound-force.

DigiGait

DigiGait is a locomotion analysis system used in biomedical research and physiology labs to record and analyze gait parameters in detail during animal ambulation, particularly in mice and rats.

Visualsonics VEVO 2100TM

The VisualSonics VEVO 2100™ Echo system is an ultrasound imaging platform designed for preclinical studies in laboratory animals (e.g., mice and rats). It enables high-resolution, high-frequency imaging of organs and tissues for biomedical research purposes.

EchoMRITM 100

EchoMRI™ 100 is a compact magnetic resonance device designed to scan and measure body fat and body composition in small biological samples, such as tissue samples or small laboratory animals (mice and rats). It provides a non-invasive solution to obtain data on fat distribution and lean mass.

Xenogen

Xenogen is a system for studying biological phenomena in live animals, enabling non-invasive visualization and analysis of cellular and molecular processes in vivo. Based on bioluminescence and fluorescence, it allows researchers to monitor the distribution and activity of specific cells, proteins, or agents within laboratory animals.

IVIS®

The IVIS® in vivo imaging system combines 2D and 3D optical tomography in a single platform. It uses state-of-the-art optical technology for preclinical imaging R&D, ideal for non-invasive longitudinal monitoring of disease progression, cell trafficking, and gene expression patterns in live animals.

Stereotaxic System and Stereomicroscope

Stereotaxic apparatus and stereomicroscope for real-time visualization during tissue dissection.

TissueLyser

TissueLyser simultaneously disrupts multiple biological samples through high-speed shaking. The system ensures rapid, complete sample disruption to fully release biomolecules, while homogenizing samples to facilitate subsequent purification steps.
