Stefano Schiaffino is considered one of the world’s leading experts in the study of skeletal muscle. He has dedicated his career to understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate muscle growth, differentiation, and atrophy. He directed the Center for Muscle Biology and Physiopathology of the CNR for many years and was a Visiting Scientist at prestigious international institutions. His scientific contributions have had a lasting impact on muscle biology and have earned him numerous honors, including election to the Accademia dei Lincei and the Academia Europaea.
