Professor Francesco Pagano is a leading figure in the field of urology and biomedical research in Italy. In 1996, Prof. Pagano founded the Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine (VIMM) with the goal of promoting advanced research in the field of biomedicine. In May 2022, he was appointed Honorary President of the Foundation for Advanced Biomedical Research, the institution overseeing VIMM, in recognition of his pivotal contribution to the institute’s growth and development. His research activity has mainly focused on urological neoplasms, with particular attention to prostate and bladder cancer. Throughout his career, Prof. Pagano has received numerous honors, including the Gold Medal from the President of the Italian Republic for his outstanding contributions to the improvement of national public health. Even after concluding his tenure as Director of the Department of Urology, Prof. Pagano has remained a central figure in the scientific community, offering his expertise and guidance to new generations of researchers.
