Professor Tullio Pozzan, graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Padua in 1973 and has been an Ordinary of General Pathology since 1986. He was elected member of the Royal Society of London, one of the most prestigious scientific associations in the world. Founded in 1660, it has hosted members of great scientific fame, such as Albert Einstein, Rita Levi Montalcini and Isaac Newton.

Author of over 350 articles published in the most prestigious scientific journals. In his long career Tullio Pozzan has been a fundamental promoter of the Advanced Biomedical Research Foundation of Padua and Scientific Director of the Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine, our international centre of excellence for research in the field of cell and molecular biology.

The Professor has also acted as Director of the Department of Experimental Biomedical Sciences at the University of Padua for 12 years. From 2009 to 2012 he was the Director of the Neuroscience Institute of the Italian National Research Council and then, starting in 2012, Director of the Department of Biomedical Sciences for the same Council.
